Principals & Vice-Principals
The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board follows a Principal/Vice-principal recruitment process for the positions of Elementary and Secondary Principal and Elementary and Secondary Vice-principal (as needed) in the fall and winter each school year. The posting and details will be published on ATE for each recruitment period. If you are fully qualified, please complete all parts of the application and submit them prior to the deadline date as set out in the posting. Please note that the Interview Selection Committee will only consider applications for the positions of Elementary and Secondary Principal and Elementary and Secondary Vice-principal from candidates who currently hold both Parts 1 and 2 of the Principal’s Qualification Program (or can provide evidence of completing Part 2 no later than March 1st of the current school year), and evidence of these qualifications has been posted on the Ontario College of Teachers’ website.
Only complete application packages received electronically within the timelines indicated for the current school year will be considered by the Interview Selection Committee.

The Interview Selection Committee will review the application packages to determine the candidates who will proceed to the Site Visit stage.
Stage Three: Site Visit
A Superintendent of Student Achievement will arrange a site visit to seek further input at the school level about the candidate’s readiness to assume this leadership role.
During the Site Visit, the candidate’s current principal and/or supervisor will give input to the Candidate Assessment Form.
Stage Four: Interview Stage
The Interview Selection Committee will review all elements of the application package using a consistent process and scoring system, to determine candidates who will receive an interview.
Stage Five: Reference Check Stage
Reference Check Forms will be reviewed after the interview.
Successful and unsuccessful candidates will be notified accordingly and internal candidates will be provided a debriefing upon request.
Successful candidates will be placed on a “Short List” for a three year term. As vacancies arise, Senior Administration will place candidates from the Short List based on the needs of the system.
