Illness Protocols
COVID-19 and Respiratory Illness have changed most aspects of our lives, including education at KPR, in Canada and around the world. At all times, KPR works closely with, and takes direction from, our local Health Units and provincial health officials, to protect students and staff.
Important Information & Resources
Please self-screen daily using the self-screening tool.
We remind all families and staff that it is extremely important to screen themselves for possible symptoms of illness every morning, before heading to school. Please use the Ontario government’s online self-screening tool for this purpose. It will help you make an informed decision about whether you should attend school or child care, mask, isolate, test or consult a health care provider.
Remaining Health and Safety Measures
Hand Hygiene and Respiratory Etiquette
- Appropriate hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette will continue to be promoted and integrated throughout the school day.
Enhanced Cleaning and Disinfecting
- Schools and school vehicles will continue with enhanced cleaning protocols in place. Required critical supplies and equipment, such as disinfectant, will continue to be provided to school boards through the province.
Ventilation Measures
- School boards will continue to implement ventilation best practices outlined in 2021:B14 School Ventilation. This includes use of standalone HEPA filter units in occupied Kindergarten classrooms and in all occupied learning spaces without mechanical ventilation.
WiFi at Schools
We know that not all KPR students and families have access to WiFi. As we work to support our communities, we have designated all our schools as public WiFi hotspots. Members of the public may access the Internet at no charge from outside our buildings. In using this resource, we encourage everyone to follow public health directives and maintain physical distancing. Please see the instructions for accessing the WiFi.
