Background on Canada and International Studies at KPR

Canada is a land of many cultures and many peoples. Aboriginal peoples have occupied the territory now called Canada for several thousands of years. Everyone else, either by birth or by descent, has been an immigrant — we have all come from somewhere else. It has been said that Canada is a “nation of immigrants.”

At KPR we take this lesson to heart. Our organization deeply values the principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and the dignity and humanity of each individual. This core belief is the foundation of all that we do, and our teachers and staff take great pride in preserving these fundamental human rights within our classrooms and schools.

More than 130,000 students come to study in Canada every year and even more come to Canada to learn English or French. At KPR, students come for the unique blend of urban and rural educational and lifestyle advantages that we provide.

Local Attractions, Travel & Study Opportunities

The abundant lakes and forests, that serve as the backdrop for our communities provide KPR students with a living classroom for ecological and nature studies literally ‘in their back yard.' Throughout all seasons, our students can participate in activities, such as skiing, sailing, hiking, horseback riding, golfing and fishing.

We are only one hour from Toronto, the ‘City within a Park,' that is considered one of the most multi-cultural cities in the world. Through Toronto's Pearson International Airport, KPR is just a short flight from Montreal, New York, Boston, Washington, and Chicago. In addition, the nation's capital, Ottawa is located a few hours away.
