KPR Statement on Courtice Secondary School Incident

On the evening of Friday, March 3, 2023, the school administration became aware of a concerning incident of Islamophobia at Courtice Secondary School, which occurred earlier in the day. Specifically, a student damaged a copy of the Quran.
While we cannot comment on individual disciplinary actions, the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board takes all allegations of discrimination seriously and is taking immediate steps to address this very serious incident.

Students in Grades 9-11 are invited to attend a virtual information night on Wednesday, March 1st from 6:30pm – 8:00pm to learn about apprenticeship opportunities available at KPR secondary schools, including the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP).
