Applicants need to register on ATE (www.applytoeducation.com) and then apply directly to a posting matching their qualifications.  In your application please include the following:

  • cover letter

  • resume

  • OCT certificate of qualification

  • practicum reports and/or teacher evaluation as applicable

Address your cover letter to Recruitment Officer, Human Resources Department.

A Police Records Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search and Pardoned Sexual Offenders Database search, valid within six months from the date of hire, is a condition of employment with the Board. Please note that there have been reports that it may take up to six weeks to process police records checks in some jurisdictions. With that in mind, we strongly suggest that candidates obtain a police screening when applying to postings to avoid delay in employment should they be successful.

  • Please note:  If you are planning to return to Ontario after working overseas or out of province, we strongly recommend that you obtain:

    a)    A Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and/or a search of the Pardoned Sexual Offenders Database from the police department in your current location (covering the time frame you were there)

    b)    A record of teaching/work experience from our current employer that includes the percentage of time worked, the type of assignment (contract, LTO, etc.), the subject/grades taught/position held, and the start and end date of the assignment.  This letter must be signed by an official of the organization and be printed on their official letterhead.

We recommend that you do this prior to returning to Canada or Ontario in order to avoid lengthy delays in your application process to KPRDSB.

How do I get on the supply list with KPRDSB?
First register with applytoeducation then apply each time we advertise for occasional teachers.

How often do you advertise for the supply list/occasional teaching?
We may advertise anytime throughout the year. Our peak recruitment times are summer and fall.

Is there a deadline for applications?
Any related deadlines will be listed on the ATEN postings themselves.

I live a significant distance from the boundaries of the KPRDSB. Will I still be considered for an interview for occasional teaching?
When we advertise for occasional teaching we need candidates to be available in all regions across the board. Please outline in your cover letter when you will be re-locating and to what geographical area.

How can I be sure my application reached the appropriate person when I applied?
When the job posting closes for occasional teachers, all candidates are sent an e-mail confirming their application. Contact ATEN for information on ensuring your application was received to a particular job posting.

I have been registered on applytoeducation.ca but have not heard anything. What is the next step?
Ensure you are signed up with "job alert" so you do not miss any job postings. Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted via e-mail address on the application.

Please note that schools and Human Resources do not accept resumes or keep unsolicited paper or electronic resumes.

We hope this has helped you in better understanding our recruitment processes and time lines.

Thank you for your interest in the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.
