The next municipal and school board election will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026.

Interested in becoming a School Board Trustee?

The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board is comprised of 10 elected Trustees.

In addition to one First Nations Appointed Trustee, and two Student Trustees.

In accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, Trustees serve a four-year term with the upcoming term to begin November, 2026.

The distribution of Trustee for 2026 is as follows:

Key dates

Friday, May 1, 2026: first day to file a nomination for an office

Friday, August 21, 2026, 2:00 p.m.: deadline to file or withdraw a nomination for an office

Monday, August 24, 2026, 4:00 p.m.: deadline for municipalities to verify candidate eligibility and certify or reject nominations

Monday, October 26, 2026: election day

Sunday, November 15, 2026: new term of office begins

For questions related to nominations, voting, or election procedures, please contact the Clerk’s office of your local municipality.

Who Can Run for School Board Trustee?

  • A resident within the jurisdiction of the Kawartha Pine Ridge DSB;
  • A Canadian citizen;
  • At least 18 years old;
  • Not legally prohibited from voting; and,
  • Not disqualified by any legislation from holding municipal office.
