Addressing Concerns

In the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board, we take concerns seriously. To support success and wellbeing for all, there are several ways members of the school board community can raise an issue of concern.

How can we help?

Questions and Concerns

Most questions and concerns can be resolved directly at the school level by speaking with your teacher, vice-principal, or principal. For general information and inquiries, email us at: kpr_info@kprdsb.ca.

Student and Family Support Office

Some matters may require additional support beyond the school level. The Support Office provides a pathway for follow-up when more help is needed.

Human Rights Concerns

Report IT! is a confidential online tool, administered by the Commissioner’s Office of Human Rights, Equity and Accessibility, to report human rights concerns.

Addressing Concerns

It's important for students, staff and families to address concerns directly with those involved, when possible.

  • If you have a concern with your child’s education, please contact your child's teacher. Most questions or problems can be resolved immediately this way.

  • If you feel more action is required, please contact your child's principal or vice-principal and request time to discuss your concerns.

  • If you still are not satisfied, please contact the superintendent responsible for your child's school.

Student and Family Support Office

The Student and Family Support Office offers parents/guardians and caregivers assistance with complex questions or concerns related to their child's education.

While most questions are best addressed directly through your child’s school, we recognize that some matters may require additional support beyond the school level. The Support Office provides a pathway for follow-up when more help is needed.

Report Human Rights Concerns

Report IT! is a confidential online tool, administered by the Commissioner’s Office of Human Rights, Equity and Accessibility, to report or refer human rights concerns that pertain to:

  • Discrimination and harassment connected to protected grounds;

  • Failure to accommodate where there is legal duty; and/or,
  • Human rights concerns with evidence to show adverse impacts to student learning.
