Volunteer Coaches Help Students Shine!
In honour of National Volunteer Week, KPR schools are pleased to recognize the outstanding contributions of volunteers.
Today, we give a special shoutout to Fred Blowes and Sean Quinlan for their countless hours as dedicated volunteer coaches at Kenner Collegiate Vocational Institute!
Sean has volunteered for several years at Kenner. He is a retired police officer who has helped organize Cops for Cancer events at the school and he coaches at least three sports teams a year (boys’ and girls’ soccer and boys’ basketball). Sean is always the first to pitch in and is a wonderful role model for students. He exemplifies good sportsmanship and teamwork, and he is highly respected by Kenner students and staff alike!
Fred is a retired teacher who also volunteers as a coach at Kenner and dedicates many hours of his own time to do so. He has helped with both boys’ and girls’ basketball teams for many years. Fred’s contributions to the school’s basketball programming are invaluable. He is an active and passionate member of the school community and helps whenever and wherever he is needed.
Volunteers like Sean and Fred help athletics and extracurricular activities run smoothly, with students benefitting from their skills, experience and time. Thank you Sean and Fred, and all volunteer coaches at KPR schools!
