Spotlight on School Volunteers!

In honour of National Volunteer Week, KPR schools are pleased to recognize the outstanding contributions of volunteers. Cathy Armstrong from Murray Centennial PS, Erin Harris from Prince of Wales PS, and Donna Goodwin from James Strath PS, support student success through their tremendous in-school volunteer efforts.

Cathy is a retired teacher with KPR who spent her career working at Murray Centennial PS. She now volunteers weekly in Kindergarten classes and accompanies all classes on field trips. She is known as a kind, caring, and intellectual individual who enjoys helping young learners in the classroom. She happily helps students with their literacy skills, crafts, and more!

Donna is a dedicated volunteer who makes a positive difference at James Strath PS every day. She walks to school regardless of the weather, arriving bright and early. She consistently gives a couple of hours of her time each day with an optimistic attitude and a welcoming smile, stepping in wherever help is needed.  Her genuine love for the children shines through in everything she does, from supporting multiple classrooms, to assisting with snacks.

Erin Harris is known affectionately by students and staff as "the Muffin Lady," and is a shining star in the Prince of Wales school community. Erin plays an active role in many aspects of school life, such as School Council, Popcorn Days, and the Lost and Found, and is always ready to lend a helping hand. Across the whole school, fresh muffin days have become something students and staff eagerly look forward to.

KPR schools are incredibly grateful to all the dedicated individuals who give their time and heart to our schools. To our over 1,000 volunteers - Thank You!
