Update for Families: November 21, 2025
Dear KPR community,
November is a rich month for learning opportunities in KPR schools, in support of our shared values of student achievement, well-being and success for all.
Indigenous Peoples Awareness Month continues as an intentional time to reflect on our role in reconciliation, and to augment the important learning about Indigenous histories, cultures and perspectives that happens throughout the entire school year.
We recognized Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week November 17–21, as a time for all of us to learn, reflect, and take action to make our schools safe, kind, and welcoming for everyone. When bullying goes unaddressed, it impacts the whole school climate. I want to recognize and express appreciation for the critical work of educators and school staff in responding to issues in a timely, culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and supportive way.
Information about upcoming days of significance, such as International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25, is available on the KPR Events Calendar, and on our social media accounts @kprschools on Facebook and Instagram.
Take care,
Rita Russo
Director of Education

Every Student Matters Census
Knowing more about the backgrounds and experiences of KPR’s school communities can help us improve programs and services for all KPR students!
Parents/caregivers and students can share their voice by completing KPR’s Every Student Matters Census from November 26-December 10.
The Census gathers demographic data about the backgrounds and experiences of students and communities to help schools better understand the needs of students and school communities, identify and address barriers to student success, inclusion and well-being, and allocate resources and improve programs and services for the benefit of ALL students.
Parents/caregivers of Kindergarten to Grade 4 students will receive a unique access code to complete the Census. Grade 5-12 students will complete the Census in class (unless parents/caregivers have opted out).
More information and opt-out is available at www.kprschools.ca/census.
