Athletics and Clubs
Our school offers students the opportunity to engage in a wide range of extracurricular activities, from competitive sports to student-led clubs. Whether joining an after-school club, competing in interschool athletics, or participating individually or as part of a team, students across all grades have opportunities to develop valuable skills in teamwork, time management, and leadership.
For more information about secondary school athletics, including competitions through regional associations and the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA), visit the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board website.

Healthy Active Living
The Healthy Active Living program at BHS is linked very closely with developing a healthy lifestyle and life long physical activity. it is designed to offer the student the basics to athletic activities with the understanding that they will use them to continue an active lifestyle after leaving school and on into adulthood. The courses offered in this department can be linked with others that lead to careers in sports medicine, physiotherapy, paramedic, sport and recreational management, nursing, teaching, coaching, professional athletics and athletic training. It can be linked with business and technology to lead to sporting equipment development and sales, hotel and resort management and fitness club ownership. The basic leadership and organizational skills taught can be useful in any job opportunity that you may encounter.
