Community Use of Schools
Schools are the centres of our communities. The Community Use of Schools program provides space to come together, to volunteer, build skills, access programs, become physically active and develop strong and healthy communities.
KPRDSB offers community agencies, parent groups, sports organizations, and local citizens fair access to school space at affordable rates during non-school hours, in accordance with Board Policy B-8.2 Community Use of School Facilities. Community Use of Schools is subject to availability and may not interfere with scheduled school activities.
During the school year, most schools are available to be booked Monday through Friday from 6:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m., and weekends from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Over the summer months (July and August), schools are not available for booking on evenings or weekends. Elementary schools typically offer single gyms and libraries for use, while secondary schools offer a wider variety of facilities for rent, including single and double gyms , auditoriums, classrooms, lecture halls and cafeterias. There is a minimum weekend booking of three hours.
