Education and Career Planning
Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board is committed to supporting students in their Education and Career Planning, including the transitions into, through and out of high school.
Each student in Grade 7-12 is required to have a digital Individual Pathways Plan (IPP) that they access and review, with support, twice each year. It helps students intentionally select courses and focus their academics to prepare for their chosen pathway.
Career Cruising is the tool we have used for several years for course selection and the development of the Individual Pathways Plan. Following an extensive consultation and trial period, we will no longer be using Career Cruising.
Effective September 2019, KPRDSB will switch to myBlueprint, a Grade 7-12 Canadian online tool that has three key elements:
Career/ Education Planner- (Grade 7-12) student driven Individual Pathways Plan (IPP) portfolio
Course Selection - plan graduation requirements for Grades 9-12
SHSM Planner - promote, enroll and track Specialist High Skills Majors students
Students should download any saved Careers, Programs, Schools, and Experiences information from Career Cruising/ Xello before August 30, 2019. This information can be downloaded to students’ Google Drives and then uploaded to their new myBlueprint account.
