Update for Families: June 28, 2023
Hello KPR families,
As the school year comes to an end, I would like to say thank you for supporting another successful year of public education in KPR! Every year brings new adventures, challenges and change, and I truly believe there are many accomplishments and joys we can celebrate.
KPR's Community Report Card for 2023 provides a glimpse of some of the awesome achievements of our students, staff, and school communities during the 2022-2023 school year! The report features #WeAreKPR stories about amazing staff and some of our fantastic volunteers, student awards and accolades, spotlights on student learning, well-being, and inclusion, along with highlights of many great things happening in our schools and school board.
We have been asked to share messaging from Stephen Lecce, Minister of Education, for Ontario parents, students and graduates, including a letter to parents in English and French; school year-end video messages to all students in English and French subtitles; and a special congratulations video to the graduates of 2023 in English and French subtitles.
With thanks,
Rita Russo
Director of Education

School Office Hours in the Summer
School offices are open until Thursday, July 6 and then closed for the summer until August 24. Schools are closed September 1 and September 4, but re-open to students for the first day of school on Tuesday, September 5.
Registration, transcripts, and other services and information can be accessed through the KPR website over the summer.
Teacher and Class Look-Up
The Class Lookup App, accessible from parents.kprdsb.ca, will go live on Wednesday, July 5 at 3:00pm. This allows elementary school families to look up their teachers for the next school year. The App requires a PIN, which the ICT Department will share directly with families on Monday, July 3. A student’s OEN is also required to access the system, which can be found on student report cards.
Secondary parents and students can view their upcoming schedule in Edsby in late August.
STSCO’s First Rider Program – Back Again This Summer!
All children who will ride a school bus for the first time this September are invited to attend a free First Rider session with their families, Friday, August 25 from 3:00pm – 6:00pm or Saturday, August 26 from 10:00am – 1:00pm.
Each session lasts about 20 minutes and will include a safety video and a 10 minute ride on a school bus for children and their parents or guardians. The program is offered by Student Transportation Services of Central Ontario (STSCO) and local school bus operators.
Sessions will be held in Bowmanville at Clarington Central Secondary School, Cobourg at the Northumberland Mall, and in Peterborough at Lansdowne Place.

“Welcome to School” Introduction Sessions
In partnership with the New Canadians Centre and the local Catholic school board, KPR is pleased to offer regional “Welcome to School'' introduction sessions for families who are new to Canada as well as current families with Multilingual Language Learners who may benefit from the opportunity!
The half-day sessions will be held on August 21 (Peterborough), August 23 (Bowmanville), and August 25 (Cobourg) at 1:00pm. Families will visit elementary and secondary schools, learn what to expect at school and ask questions!
