Update for Families: April 26, 2023
Hello everyone,
My message to you today comes from a place of gratitude, for the ongoing, important contributions and actions of all KPR families and staff - along with a call to Share Your Voice during our Strategic Planning process. Your thoughts are important, please continue to participate in our online conversations.
Today is Administrative Professionals Day, an opportunity for us here at KPR to extend sincere appreciation to all of the administrative assistants, secretaries, and office professionals who are integral to the success of students and our organization. These are the people who often answer your calls and emails when you contact our schools and Education Centre for assistance - we value them and their important work!
It was wonderful to see the many activities and initiatives that students and staff participated in for Earth Day. We continue to emphasize our collective role in respecting and protecting our natural environments, not just on Earth Day but throughout the year.
National Principals’ Day is on May 1, an opportunity to acknowledge the role of our principals and vice-principals as educational leaders who work hard each day to ensure the overall success, growth and wellbeing of our students and school communities!
I also want to note for everyone that next week is Education Week and Canadian Mental Health Week. Good mental health is foundational to educational success, while education fosters a culture of understanding and acceptance related to our mental health. During Education Week, we celebrate student success and the power of education to develop knowledge, skills and break down barriers to opportunities. Watch for more information about Education Week and Canadian Mental Health Week on our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts next week - @kprschools.
Please visit our Events Calendar for more information about upcoming dates of significance.
Best wishes to everyone as we get ready to welcome May!
Rita Russo,
Director of Education
KPR NEWS
Now is the time to Share Your Voice and help shape the future of KPR! We’ve had over 1,400 participants share 1,500 thoughts, and apply nearly 60,000 ratings in our strategic planning conversations about Learning, Well-being and Belonging!
There’s still time to share your thoughts and prioritize ideas related to this question: How can we best support the unique and diverse learning needs of all students?
We’ve also launched a second online conversation: How can we best support wellness, belonging and overall success for students, staff and communities?
Please take a few minutes to participate in both of these online conversations. It’s easy and confidential - your thoughts will be shared, but not your identity.
The theme for KPR’s strategic planning is Your Voice, Your Plan because we want to ensure that our plan and future direction reflects the voices and lived experiences of all students, staff, families and communities. Our strategic plan is like our roadmap, outlining important student success and organizational goals.
