Tutoring Opportunities for KPR Students
As part of the Ministry of Education’s learning recovery plan for language and math, tutoring opportunities for Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (KPRDSB) students, Kindergarten to Grade 12, will once again be available this fall.
School-based tutoring outside of school hours delivered by KPRDSB teachers will be available to students at each school, either in-person or virtually. Schools will select students for the school-based program based on their current academic needs. Families of these students will receive information about this program directly from their schools over the next two weeks. If families have not heard from schools by Wednesday, September 21st, and they believe that their children require this additional support, further inquiries about this opportunity can be directed to kpr_tutoring@kprdsb.ca or at 1-877-741-4577 / 705-742-9773 ext. 3700.
Some families may be currently accessing or considering support for their child(ren) outside school hours through the following recognized tutoring companies. As part of our tutoring support plan, KPRDSB will partially subsidize tutoring services offered by the following tutoring companies, up to an established funding cap to be managed by the company, between September 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022 only.
Please note that some tutoring companies may require payment upfront prior to families receiving reimbursement for the subsidized amount.
Due to the high level of interest in this program, and limited funding, we have had to place caps on the amount provided to each company in order to serve students in greater numbers and more equitably. We are not able to fund any additional tutoring companies at this time, as the full funding amount has been allocated.
To determine if the following approved companies are able to provide tutoring services, parents/guardians should contact them directly. Please be aware that, due to high demand, companies may be limited in what they can offer.
