Community Use of Schools

We are pleased to announce the re-opening of Community Use of Schools (CUS) in KPR. Working in partnership with provincial Community Use of School Leads and local public health partners, we are preparing for a gradual, phased-in reopening of CUS beginning in January.

We will begin accepting permits, through the Ebase permit system, from Youth Not for Profit groups starting Thursday, December 2, 2021. Community Not for Profit groups will be able to submit permits starting Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

Please note that the permitting process will look different this year, as there are many new COVID-19 restrictions. All organizations will have to complete and submit a COVID Safety Plan before permits can be approved. The template for this can be found here

As part of our gradual reopening plan only select schools will be available for booking. Please see below for the list of available spaces.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will have reduced hours and locations available, but will do our best to accommodate groups.

Community use will only be open Friday evening to Sunday each week. The hours are as follows:

Community Use of School Hours

Friday

6:00pm – 10:00pm

Saturday

8:00am – 10:00pm

Sunday

8:00am – 8:00pm

There will also be an additional $25 cleaning fee added to all bookings for enhanced COVID-19 cleaning. For this school year, the cleaning fee for Youth not for profit groups will be 100% subsidized by Community Use of Schools.

We are excited to be able to welcome groups back and appreciate your patience while we navigate some of these new procedures.
