About Us
Welcome to Kaawaate East City Public School!
We are fortunate that Kaawaate East City Public School is situated on the territory of the Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg. As peoples of the Williams Treaty, we are grateful for the site of our school and recognize that our learning environment has creatively been built into the side of a hill resulting in three unique levels - earth, tree, and sky.
Our students will benefit from the learning that comes from all of this, as well as from where the school is situated; adjacent to the forest with a breath-taking view from the hill and located near the Trent-Severn Waterway which connects beautifully to the Kaawaate portion of our name meaning “Shining Waters”. In addition, our students will also be learning from an innovative and dedicated team of educators. Collectively, our staff will build inclusive relationships with many opportunities for everyone to demonstrate academic and personal growth, and ensure we are meeting the needs of all students. At KECPS, we are the “Navigators”, and each individual is learning to navigate their own educational journey - we are very much looking forward to supporting our students as we begin this phenomenal adventure!
