Parents Helping Parents:
A Taste of 21st Century Learning

Sponsored by the Parent Involvement Committee of the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board, these regional parent information sessions will provide parents with a chance to see how technology is changing the way students learn, and include workshops.

Please choose one of the following:

Anxiety and Stress Among Students:  Anxiety and stress directly affect many students at school and at home.  This workshop will describe the impact that anxiety and stress have on children and teens, and offer information on the things parents and caregivers can do to support their struggling children.

Post-secondary Path: Helping Your Child Chart a Course Pathway:  Choosing the secondary school program pathway that will lead to a career is an exciting venture for students.  Learn about the pathways, processes and tools that are available to help you help your teenager choose a career.

Navigating the World of Special Education:  KPR offers a wide variety of programs and services for students with special needs.  Receive an introduction to the people and processes at KPR to support exceptional students.  Topics will include Individual Education Plans, their purpose, and how they are developed and put in place.  Learn about Identification, Placement and Review Committee meetings, and other related topics.
