At Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (KPR) there are two types of facility partnership opportunities; lease and co-build.
Where schools at KPR have under-utilized space, the board can lease space to a group to use for their purposes (office space, childcare etc.). This group must be willing to act in accordance with the board Facility Partnership Principles, as well as enter into a rental agreement with KPR.
Where KPR is planning a school expansion or re-build, community groups and partners can apply to contribute financially to the build and participate in the design of the project.
NOTICE of Pubic Meeting on Facility Partnership Opportunities
Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (KPR) will be holding its annual public meeting on Facility Partnership Opportunities on Wednesday, July 19th, 2017, at 3:30pm in the cafeteria, PACE at PVCS, 201 McDonnel Street, Peterborough, ON. The purpose of this meeting is to provide information about:
KPR facilities/rooms that are available to be leased as dedicated space by non-profit community groups and existing partners
Planned capital projects that present an opportunity to co-build with non-profit community groups and existing partners
Where KPR schools have under-utilized space, the board can lease that space out to a group to use for their purposes (office space, childcare etc.). This group must be willing to act in accordance with Board Facility Partnership Principles, as well as enter into a lease agreement with KPR. The space currently available to rent within KPR schools is as follows:
Peterborough Alternative and Continuing Education (PACE) at PCVS
1st floor, and 3rd floor spaces available
Lakefield District Public School
1 main floor room available
No space available at this time
1 room available on the second floor
Additionally, we will be discussing the potential to co-build with KPRDSB. Where KPRDSB is planning a school expansion or a re-build in 2017/2018, community groups and partners can provide funds to co-build, and thereby own a facility connected with a school.
If interested in either of the above options, please plan to attend the Facility Partnerships Public Meeting on July 19rd, 2017 (information above). At the meeting, you will learn about the space options, what becoming a facility partner entails, as well as tour the PACE at PCVS space available.
Please note PACE at PCVS is not equipped with an elevator and therefore cannot accommodate all accessibility needs for in-person participation at the meeting. Accessibility needs can be met through electronic meeting attendance (upon request).
