Distance Learning

In these stressful and uncertain times, our thoughts first and foremost continue to be for the wellness of the students and families we serve. We urge everyone to continue to practice the physical distancing measures needed to ensure the health of all.

As we begin distance learning for everyone, our teachers are looking forward to reconnecting with students.

MARKS AND REPORT CARDS - We know that this model is not perfect, and everyone will continue to learn along the way. Understandably, students and parents also want to know how this work will affect student marks for the year or semester.

Elementary Students

All elementary students will receive a final report card.

In determining marks for the final report card, teachers will use the evaluation information gathered before March 13th. Teachers will also consider work completed during the school closure period that would positively impact marks as part of a fair assessment of learning.

Secondary Students

For Grade 12 students - Students will receive midterm and final grades for both their Grade 11 and 12 courses. These marks will be used for college and university application purposes.

Marks will be based on work completed prior to the school closure period. Teachers may also consider work completed during the school closure period that would positively impact marks. Teachers will consider any barriers to learning created during the school closure period and ensure they have not negatively impacted a student’s grade.

Grade 9-12 students – Students will receive final report cards. Marks will be based on work completed prior to the school closure period. Teachers may also consider work completed during the school closure period that would positively impact the midterm mark. Teachers will consider any barriers to learning created during the school closure period and ensure they have not negatively impacted a student’s grade.New Student Log-In Portal – A  new student portal is available, providing quick access to tools for student learning, all from one place. Students can access links to Edsby, Office 365, D2L, Google Classroom, our Virtual Library and more. The portal is accessible at: kprweb.kprdsb.ca/students
